The SNES >
Still the GOAT Nintendo console hands-down.
Super Mario World, Chrono Trigger, Super Metroid, Zelda: A Link to the Past, Earthbound, Final Fantasy 4 and 6, Mega Man X, Castevania 4, Super Mario Kart, Yoshi's Island, Donkey Kong Country 1-3, Super Mario RPG, Super Mario All-Stars, I could go on...
SEGA had heat though. Sonic 1-3 and Knuckles, Streets of Rage 1-3, Phantasy Star 4, Gunstar Heroes
NBA Jam, TMNT, and Street Fighter 2 were all lit on both systems.
The 16-bit era has to be my favorite era of gaming, to be honest.
EDIT: It's a real shame that SEGA started falling off so hard in the mid-90s. They killed the power of their brand with all of those

addons for the Genesis, they started falling off with Sonic, and their American branch's mismanagement of the Saturn was legendary. They came correct with the Dreamcast, (Jet Set Radio

) but by that point it was too late and the fans had mostly jumped ship for the PS2 by that point. Even Sonic making his comeback with Adventure wasn't enough to save Sega
Nintendo made some pretty bad mistakes with Sony and alienated third parties, but they still got a pass since Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time were so revolutionary. Then they crushed the buildings with Pokemon.
It also helps that Gamecube had heat lowkey, even though wasn't seeing the PS2.
(Smash Bros. Melee, Metroid Prime, Resident Evil 4, Tales of Symphonia, etc.)
