South Africa is a special case, unlike most countries in the continent, they still have direct oppression, I have no ancestoral connection to the area so its' not on my radar as much but its' a place I've been thinking of emigrating to (after Ghana and Swaziland), don't want to see it get worse

I didn't listen to the video, the idea of shantytowns is basically a bunch of white Afrikaners who used to rely on state provided protection from competition in the job market who no longer have this protection and are left to fend for themselves.

imagine if racism didn't exist how quickly this would be the case in North America.

I can't help but think of all the People of color, nah, black people that don't even bother going into certain fields or applying to jobs at certain companies simply based on the projection of a monolithic racial demographic in the workplace as illustrated by pictures on company websites, Ads etc etc.
