White Coli Posters: How do YOU Feel About this Riley Cooper Situation?

I'm not talking about the usual knee-jerk pseudo-conservative contrarians when it comes to race issues. I'm thinking more along the lines of @Listen, @HHR, @Absolut @the white hip hop thief @Big Mel etc.

I. Do you think Riley Cooper should be punished? By The league? By his team?
II. Do you find the term "CAC" offensive? Would you equate it to "n1gger?"
III. Do you avoid race discussions on The Coli in general? Do you think discussions fail to rise a level worthy of engaging?
IV. Do you agree with the consensus among black posters that there's a clear difference between "nikka" and "n1gger" or do you think that's a convenient rationalization?
V. Do you feel sympathetic to the shyttiness of racism blacks face in this country in general, but less sympathetic when you read posts about race on The Coli?

I'm genuinely curious about your opinions as far as all those questions go...

2. I find the term "cac" somewhat offensive, especially if it's used in a way to generalize all white people. But I don't get heated over it. It's definitely not as foul as "******." It was created on the coli , it has no history.
3. I avoid them for the most part. It's not so much as the "worthiness" of the discussion, but rather, what difference would my cac opinion make?
4. I agree that there's a difference. It's really weird to think about how "nikka" as a term of endearment came to be, and how strongly it persists despite its increasing divisiveness. But it exists, and it's clearly not the same as "******." It's a social construct, so it is what people make it.
5. Posts on the coli do not change the sympathy I have for the uphill battle it is to be black in America. I don't know what it's like to always be second-guessing other people's motives just because of my skin color. I imagine it would have a profound effect on my perspective. I think the strong-minded are able to overcome initial feelings of outrage and maintain a positive outlook, and those that aren't as strong-minded are more susceptible to their own anger.
