Watched a recent Martik Shkrelli video someone shared about another topic and dude kind of points out that those at pretty much the very top of power don't care about political party. They care about money, their own personal self-interests and their elite economic status. Get in the way of that and you gonna see how little they'd care about you, your people and your "movement".
Basically, they'll neutralize any internal threats before the threat of it all falling apart gets close.
