Adam Laroche threw a temper tantrum, and all of a sudden some in the media (and in the White Sox locker room ... and apparently other outspoken athletes on Twitter) outchea waving him around like some symbol of fatherhood

LaRoche chooses to retire rather than having his kid in there 75% of the time. Sale comes out and tells the world the president should be out of the organization.

The backstory is that LaRoche sucks. And he is being paid $13 or 14 million dollars a year to suck. In truth it was a stroke of genius by Williams to push the right buttons to get the guy to retire, because the Sox can get the same production from a double A player for about $250,000.00 a year.

That is it. That is the whole story. White Sox management totally stumbled into this shyt and they have to be extremely happy to get that crazy contract off of their books.

LaRoche just comes across as whiny here. And everyone supporting him seem like a bunch of whiny entitled pricks. LaRoche is quitting on his team. Literally. Think of the number of times "other" players have been accused of "quitting on their team" in crucial moments. Yet here we have a player doing it quite literally, and everyone's defending him like the Alamo. I can definitely see OP's implications.
