offensive efficiency is deceiving cause we're top 2 in offensive rebounding. we're 24th is straight up field goal percentage and easily the worst shooting team in the top 10 of o-rating. Our style is read and react, heavy isolation that limits turnovers but also aims to put up tough shots up at the rim to clean up the boards with hartenstein or mitch. our only efficient isolation player is brunson. we try to have more volume than other teams in terms of possessions....when teams mitigate that it might be rough sledding.
in the regular season you can be reliant on that to carry you through the year. but in the playoffs even undersized teams aim to take away that advantage. see what the warriors did to the grizzlies last year.
if we shot closer to middle of the pack than bottom 1/4th in the league I'd be more confident going into the playoffs.
the approach is very old school. Win the turnover battle and rebounding battle you stand a better chance. Which is why we traded for j.hart. Still have no faith in thibs being the tactician that'll be here to maximize the ceiling of this team...whatever it is.
you can introduce all these principles on shot selection ...but how we get to those shots are the opposite of modern. randle had to hit like 5 step back 3s to win last night

the lack of movement is migraine inducing but we'll see how it shakes out
