A really good article from the post for once. I don't know who they could get in a trade like that but let's see what happens. Right now you’re not getting equal value for Randle but things change.
I think you could get away with trading Julius for a Cam Johnson type of player (stretch 4 who can defend decently) and another bench piece. (I know we’d never trade with Brooklyn). Our offense would open up but our team success would SOLEY be predicated on another RJ leap to a bonafide second option. And that scares the shyt out of me.

He squeezed every last win out this awkwardly constructed roster he has a close to .600 career winning %, 2x CoY, All-Star game coach, credited as a trendsetting defensive coach in the late 2000’s/early 2010’s, strong player development. He ain’t no damn college coach. Miami was the better team and that’s that. He’s never had a championship level roster in his career.

No coach is perfect. They all get killed. They’re all stubborn. Bucks won a ring with Bud he’s out of a job now. shyt is such a crapshoot.

There is no leap. He is who he is. 4 years in and his game hasn’t improved that much. This is his ceiling truthfully

Don’t accept lower expectations for Thibs.

Since last summer Monty Williams, Mike Budenholzer, Ime Udoka, Quin Snyder, and Nick Nurse have all been let go and only Snyder has not had better playoff success because he never made it to the conference finals. He makes it once he’s had a better run than Thibs.

Ty Lue might be let go too based on rumors.

The only viable things keeping Thibs job is he is a better developmental coach than the names I mentioned and Rick Brunson works for him. I’m not going to argue if Thibs is better than some of those names because he is, but there are good options, with proven success out there and the Knicks aren't even looking.

He’s not the BEST coach. And might not be the coach that leads this team to the promise land. But he’s not a bad coach.
You're right. I don't mean to insinuate he's trash. I just don't think he has what we need to make the next step.

Don't go too deep yet, he’s been wrong before. He was one of the loudest voices saying that the Mitchell trade was going to happen eventually last summer and really fed into that story up until it didn't happen.
That trade fell apart at the 2 yard line. That’s not because of bad sources.

We went through 10 years of trash coaches after Mike Woodson left, I don't want to go on another coach carousel for who knows how many years, trying to find another one. In I think coaches are made to be the scapegoats way too easily in today's NBA; it's basically free bail for trash exec's and players at this point. So with that said, I'm content with Thibs.
