I don't care at all about people posting articles as long as you're not obnoxious like scientific playa and clean that shyt up. it is also helpful to highlight key parts, but sometimes that is a task. People should always post a link but sometimes I don't just because I got things from a mainstream publication. HL will have sme changes eventually but hardcore enforcement of stuff like this probably won't be it.

:childplease:

So you don't post a link because it's from a mainstream pub?? what that got to do with anything. Just link us up, breh!

What changes will HL have??
:lupe:

When is "eventually"??

First of all, during these last few months I feel like HL has experienced it's highest volume of posters ever. I think the amount of different articles has contributed to that. Most of us throw up a bunch of articles as we read them because if we don't, we'll forget to do it later. There are a bunch of articles I've read this week alone that I've wanted to discuss here, that I've moved on from because there is just soooo much to talk about.

I usually highlight all my post. Some folks like it, others don't. It depends on high large the article is. The article I just put up about that feminist mom is like a 30 second read.

I don't think anyone that post articles puts up their opinions until a bunch of people start posting. It seems rather "wanting." If folks would like to discuss your article they will, if not, they won't.

I'd like for HL to be like this but posters don't want it so we mods go with the flow. Sometimes I edit the OP or post the articles and/or the links and/or additional infos in the second post so we can get the discussion going but it doesn't work all the time.

This has been proven to be bullshyt. You pick and choose what posters do what in H.L. The posters that kiss your ass get free reign for whatever. You go with the flow of whomever puts superficial, non-critical thinking threads with no real dialogue. As soon as it hits a certain topic you don't like, it's moved.

So just talk about it. Post the important part of the article, post the link and start the conversation. There were 20 pages of threads with ZERO replies from this year alone. I actually went through them and they were overwhelmingly OPs where the person just posted the article and moved on.

That's not how you start a discussion.

If we're just gonna post the articles we might as well have a specific thread where we post articles and nothing else.

Don't worry about seeming "wanting" when you start the conversation. The fact that you cared enough to share already tells us it's something you'd like to discuss. So just discuss it.
