My top 10:

10. Future - I put future on this list because this dude is clearly only good at making hooks using autotune, he can't rap or sing, even if you judge him based on hookmaking both Kid Cudi and Drake are far superior in that category. I respect his hustle but people put him up on too high a pedestal for having achieved so little.

9. Ja Rule - Despite his success, Ja was never really that nice. I will give him Pain and Love, but in a lot of ways, Irv Gotti was the puppeteer of his success. Ja isn't wack wack but he was average.

8. Kurupt - Kurupt was never the rapper people made him out to be. People put him on a level that he was never able to attain. Put it like this give me a classic Kurupt song or a classic verse. Despite that people think he is an all time West Coast great, which he just isn't, the body of work isn't there. Furthermore his best album was one that no one mentions at his best.

7. Max B - I agree. Max B is a 50 cent clone, and oddly enough dude's existence further shows how 50 Cent is underrated as a pure rapper

6. Lil B - It's weird, Lil B has potential but it's crazy how many people throw shade at Odd Future, despite them growing as artists collectively yet praise Lil B for being anything but just random

5. Styles P - Dude is a glorified mixtape rapper. Jada and Sheek proved they can craft solo albums. Styles is the weak link in D-block though he seems to get the most props at times.

4. Dipset - I like Cam'ron as a rapper but it's crazy how much of a movement dipset became with some hot beats and purile, childish rhymes.

3. NORE - Dude makes a hot club song but Capone made CNN from a rhymes standpoint. NORE does not have a classic album yet some would have him in the top 10.

2. The Lost Boyz - I don't think one of their albums is a classic. They dropped hot songs back in the mod-90's but they were relics of the era.

1. LL Cool J - As amazing as this guy's career was I don't think he is a top 5 rapper, and he would not be in my top 10, don't get me wrong, his run from 1983-1990 was legendary but he never really reached that peak lyrically outside a song or two, and while he is a legend, I would not put him as high as some do. He is top 15 in my book no better.

AND NOW FOR THE MOMENT YOU HAVE ALL BEEN WAITING FOR.

WACKY D.:king:

GROUPS:
1. Outkast -
biggest recipients of revisionist history in hip-hop ever.

2. The Fugees - their r&b popularity boosted their status in the rap game. the media acts like they cant differentiate the two. this is another negative for outkast as well.

3. UGK - i got mad respect for what these dudes did but theyre the poster-boys of hip-hop homers. i'll gladly take them off the list when bamas stop acting like theyre an all-time elite group.

4. De La Soul - :flabbynsick: but forreal tho, most of their stuff is blah.

5. Beastie Boys - i got love for these dudes and didn't want to do this but i cant be biased. lets be real, they havnt been chit in hip-hop since they left def jam. they trump snoop dogg in the "1-album wonder" category by far.

PRODUCERS:
1. Kanye West -
Very dope behind the board but im not sure if he would even crack my top 40.

2. Timbaland - much better at r&b. again, another shining example of lines getting blurred, to a lesser degree.

3. J. Dilla - im sorry but i never felt his beats at all.

SOLO:
1. Eminem -
you already know. and lol @ people in here talking about he got classic albums. he never came close to such. and he dam sure aint no goat battle rapper. his track record with battles on wax says hes below average. getting sonned by jarule & such.

2. Kanye West - possibly the overall most overrated entity in hip-hop history. from being an overrated producer to being considered a "lyricist" despite not writing his own chit to being hailed as an elite rapper just because hes a TMZ regular. and he pretty much embodies everything that's wrong with hip-hop today.

3. Lil Wayne - darn near everything has already been said in here concerning that bul.

4. T.I. - has 2 slammin albums but everything else is the embodiment of average & generic. plus hes the valedictorian of the SCKU(Shawn Carter-Knowles University) with degrees in propaganda & f*ckery. he mastered jay's blueprint and took it down south. he had it down pact, all the way to knowing which battles to force, which ones to duck, and how to sign & hinder artists and their careers.

5. Kendrick Lamar - newest entry. has arguably surpassed drake as the most obvious rap plant. the media & industry props this dude is getting are beyond ridiculous. and the easily impressionable internet audience is eating it up like hot cakes.

6. Drake - :heh: he has legit jams under his belt, so hes slightly better off than Kendrick.

7. Common - gets a pass for wearing the conscious tag. he never did anything to warrant the props that they make us feel obligated to give him.

8. Jay-Z - like dude on the previous page said, jay is the only rapper that cracks both this and my top 10 goat list.

sidenote: for what its worth, biggie just missed this list, but im not sure if biggie cracks my top 10 goat list anyway. nas might crack this list soon tho. so he could be joining jay as members of both clubs.

9. Lil Kim - she was washed as soon as biggie died. female goat my ass.

10. Missy Elliot - i know yall don't pay her any attention. its just crazy how she gets all this recognition. its sickening at times. another artist who gets crazy rap props because of their importance to the r&b crowds.

50 cent is hard to rank. hes one of those rappers that are overrated and underrated at the same time.

a lot of people that think 50 is a one-album wonder, have no clue about all the stuff he was dropping before GRODT. but at the same time, i always felt that his GRODT run was overrated and i certainly didn't mess with the music he put out afterwards.

over time, i think hes rated just right in a way. i have him in my top 30. how many of you would rank him higher or lower?

Naw I think you have it right. The thing with 50 is that he does his best work when no one is looking, if that makes any since, the stuff he did before he got big was very dope, and it was cool to see a crew like G-Unit move their way up the way they did. But joining Shady made him rich but a commercial shill at the same time. That being said, now he is no longer in the forefront, his music has been quietly dope again. BISD, was very good album that no one really talked about on here. Plus as a pure rapper, he is actually technically proficient so its an even mix between overrated and underrated.

I got love for method man, but as a wu fan I hate when people call him the best rapper of the wu.

I hate that too cause he had the weakest solo album outta the group after 36 Chambers was released.
Best member is between Ghost and Raekwon
