That quote is not taken out of context in the slightest. It is implicitly discouraging higher education as "seeking out your own glory".

The follow-up question is like "Whether you decide to touch the stove or not, have you really thought about how badly your hand might be injured?"

That's really the best example you could come up with? :francis:

I'm just saying you could do better. :heh:

Or can you?

:heh: You pushing your agenda harder than that weak ass site you hold sacred.

At 10:30 at night, yeah that's the best I can come up with but I'm sure there are plenty more.

You win though, cuz we both we both seeing it from different perspectives :salute:

I believe in God but I don't go to church and I'm not a Bible Thumper. I watch a couple of church programs on Sundays, as far as me going to church nope.

My problem is a lot of "Christians" in the church either don't follow what's preached to them or because they have religion that they have the right to be judgmental to others. I don't understand how you can go to the club and wily out then the next day trying to catch the holy ghost. I don't understand how people go to church but then talk about other members like shyt. Most of all Idc for preachers who "talk the talk" but don't walk it. If you're life ain't right you ain't got no business preaching to anyone.

This right here. That's the problem, it appears you are judging an entire Christian community based off of a few hypocrites, but yet do you call out that same hypocrisy in your own life, family's life, and people you work with or work for?

This is the same old tired argument!

Breh's need to stop focusing on people and keep their eyes on Yeshua (Jesus).

He is the example to follow!

It looks like money that could've been spent improving the community but instead was squandered on material reminders of how white people managed to suppress billions.

Are you taking portions of your paycheck to help improve the community :francis:

I actually donate to churches. The ones that I know are funneling the money towards good causes. I refer, in fact, to the lavish decorations that are wholly unnecessary. If a congregation really does love God, a simple building with an altar and chairs is enough. You don't need marble and stained glass and velvet to forge and maintain your relationship with your chosen higher being.
I won't deny the good the church does, I just acknowledge the wastefulness and also the bad. :yeshrug:

Jesus obeyed GOD's commandments. He worshipped on the sabbath not on Sunday. He didn't eat pork, shrimp etc... that's proof damn near every church in this wicked ass country don't know shyt about Jesus and its following a false religion. The pastor's don't even teach GOD's commandments. He's too busy trying to fill seats. They even got women preacher when the Bible clearly startes a woman should remain silent when she's in church.

There is no longer a commandment against pork or shellfish, so you are grasping at straws with that angle.

Also, the Sabbath was made for man, and not man for the Sabbath. The OT Law is done away with because Yeshuah fulfilled them perfectly.

Grace has superseeded legalism (Pharisees)

Those who come across as more righteous are usually the ones Yahweh rejects.

Christ fulfilled the law of animal sacrifice. You really think Christ died so you no longer have to love your mother and father, you can murder people, you can steal etc. all of those all laws in the OT. Christ is the perfect lamb that died for our sins. Whenever you sinned in the OT animal sacrifice was required. That's the only thing that's done away.

Acts 20:16 (Paul keeping the feast of Pentecost which is a law in the OT) Do you keep this feast every year?
For Paul had decided to sail by Ephesus, so that it might not come upon him to spend time in Asia; for he was hastened, if it was possible for him, to be in Jerusalem on the day of Pentecost.
Romans 3:31
Do we then make void the law through faith? God forbid: yea, we establish the law.

Matthew 5:17
Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them, but to fulfill them.

Revelation 14:12
Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Matthew 5:17-22King James Version (KJV)
17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.

18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

20 For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

21 Ye have heard that it was said of them of old time, Thou shalt not kill; and whosoever shall kill shall be in danger of the judgment:

22 But I say unto you, That whosoever is angry with his brother without a cause shall be in danger of the judgment: and whosoever shall say to his brother, Raca, shall be in danger of the council: but whosoever shall say, Thou fool, shall be in danger of hell fire.

Another issue I have is they condemn to hell if you don't pick their religion. How am I suppose to know all this? I wasn't here 2000 years ago.

You have no point. You said the OT laws are done away with end. Christ is teaching folks the laws from the Old Testament. He didn't come to earth creating laws. He restablished the laws of old(except animal sacrifice) . You said keep your eyes on Christ but you don't even know that Christ was quoting the laws of the OT
Proverbs 4:4
He taught me also, and said unto me, Let thine heart retain my words: keep my commandments, and live.

Proverbs 7:2
Keep my commandments, and live; and my law as the apple of thine eye.
