The script was probably to bury Hogan like Austin buried Scott Hall...so yes a match similar to that would have gotten mad shyt thrown in the ring and Rocky booed out of the building

its ok that Hogan outpopped Rock and carried the match...no need to feel shame...Hogan is the G.O.A.T breh

Facts only...

:snoop: The original plan was for Hall to go OVER Austin, he went to Vince crying like usual and got the finish changed. and if you're gonna say anybody 'carried' anyone in that match, Rock did a massive carry job. Austin wasn't gonna sell for Hogan like that..

Is this true? because that match buried Hall....

You do know what carry means right? Rock made Hogan look like he still had it.

Fighting Spirit Magazine
has published the second part of their interview with Hulk Hogan in their latest issue. During the interview, Hogan discussed his match with The Rock at Wrestlemania X-8 and being asked to fly to Miami, Florida to rehearse the match beforehand.
"Out of respect, I go down there, and there's me and The Rock and his dad Rocky Johnson, and Pat Patterson," Hogan said. "The Rock starts telling me that we're gonna lock up, and do this and do that, then start getting some heat on me, and so on. So he talked through the whole match, and I was listening. I respect him, and it kinda made sense, but I'd never done that before. Then they go, 'Okay, let's have the match here.' I said, 'Whoa! You're talking about me taking bumps in this ring, with no people? I'll get hurt, and if I fall wrong one time, then my career is over.' I've got to have the energy of the crowd, so that when I go down, I go down to the mat hard. So instead, we just walked through the match."

Hogan then said that he changed the match on the fly.

"The whole issue I had was what if we got to Toronto, and this doesn't work? So sure enough, when we go to Toronto, I give The Rock one big push, and the place explodes," Hogan recalled. "Then I pushed him again, as we planned, and the place explodes again. [WWE] thought I was gonna get booed. Then I start chopping meat on him, and with every hit the place is going crazy. Then I did what was planned, blocking a punch, and as soon as he started hitting me came the boos."

"I went down, and looked up and said, 'You want me to fix this?' And The Rock says, 'Yeah, let's fix it.' I went, 'OK, then listen to me.' But it took him no time to get it right, because he is just so good in the ring. It took us three minutes to get it right, but if we'd done what we had practiced, they'd have booed us out of the [expletive] building. I'm not saying I could do it in every instance, but The Rock is so good, we could do that. The Rock doesn't usually talk about planning his matches, so somebody must have made him worry that I was too old and too slow, and that I wouldn't be able to keep up with the work-rate. But once he got in the ring with me, he knew I had a feel for it, and we got it right. That's what I wanted to do with 'Stone Cold', and Bret Hart, too."

Once he said "I'd never done that before" he was lying. Dude has said plenty times about Macho that they went over and over their Mania match because Macho wanted everything perfect

Toronto and Montreal, hell.. most of Canada is very pro Hogan. Combined with the fact that Hogan hadn't been on WWE TV in like 10 years, anyone should've seen what was going to happen, reaction wise. Might have been different in the states but in Toronto or Montreal, it was a no brainer. Hell, it probably would've been even worse if it was in Montreal.

Dunno who called it but I think Rock did an amazing job carrying it and playing to the Hogan superman schtick. That's exactly what the crowd wanted to see and he was man enough to set his ego aside and go a long with it. All those people clamoring for Austin/Hogan instead... Austin would've never, ever sold like that and looked that weak against Hulk.

Not sure if the audience would've been as Pro-Hogan agaist Austin but my hunch is they would.

Rock is way, way more suited to have a good match with Hulk than Austin is.
