I don't think you should want to trash. Even if it is for draft picks to get better. You shouldn't like being in the lottery draft year after year.

The problem in this thread is people think Philly was intentionally trying to suck when that wasn't the mission. It was to collect cheap talent and undervalued players. When they started trading off overvalued players (Turner, MCW, Holiday) for draft picks people said OOOOO! They're tanking!!! and ran with it. Some of you even repeating that "Trust the Process" mantra when Hinkie nor any Philly exec ever said it.

Cost to what? They have caproom and could go after guys like Fournier, Crabbe, Dellavedova, young dudes that will help add depth and fill out the roster, in addition to the top 3 pick they'll get.
If they get the Lakers pick as well, I guarantee they start to fill out their roster. You acting like they have no draft picks or some shyt, I'd expect such poor judgment from someone who mocks the Great One.

It's not so much that they WANT to be trash. It's a means to an end, that end being a championship caliber team. Philly went to this approach because they felt stuck where they were. That and Philly tunes you out if you're not striving for a ring.
Nobody likes being in the lottery, but you're there to get a player so good you won't have to worry about being there much longer. There are those instances where teams get hooked on rebuilding (I call it serial rebuilding) where that becomes your only purpose. Philly was teetering on that. But I completely get the intent

I just don't see them letting him actually walk in the off season. He's far too important to that team.
He'll get his Cory Joseph type deal from another team and they'll match.
