Roc-A-Fella Records - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Roc-A-Fella Records was a record label founded by Shawn "Jay-Z" Carter, Damon "Dame" Dash, and Kareem "Biggs" Burke. The label's title refers to a Brooklyn drug dealer from Marcy Houses named Rocafella who died from AIDS. It operated as a subsidiary of Universal Music Group, and was distributed by The Island Def Jam Music Group.

:heh:

I mean really?

And no Bleek doesn't count.

Talking about Brooklyn, not the whole city.

There has been a lot of talent out of Brooklyn over the years.

Why didn't Jay put any Brooklyn rappers on?

Kanye has done more for his city.

You probably cant and no one suggested that. With a talent pool like Brooklyn had/has, one would think you would be able to show love to your city. Jay was clearly in a position to help people get on, even if not signing them himself. Would Jay have ever become the star he is today without the support of Brooklyn? Without the support of NY?

I'm talking about Brooklyn.

Tru Life is from Manhattan and never blew, I'm pretty sure he's doing life now....
