Damn. I think what you experience is common with 80-90% of men. My brother has never opened up, shared or had any confrontation—39 years old. Pretty depressing.Even though I have friends I consider my bro’s for life
I still have a hard time talking to them about deep shyt
Not because I’m scared of judgement but we all got shyt going on
So I don’t want to feel like a burden

But I keep it very surface level
Even with my daughter I gotta put on that facade

i don’t mind sharing though, especially getting other’s views to see if I’m wrong usually wiser, older ppl. I try to see how can I improve, how would they handle this.
y’all might disagree but I think it’s good to have platonic female friends—home girls and homeboys. I never judge someone for opening up or sharing with me.
i know everyone goes thru things, especially blk men.
I’ve never been married but idk if a wife is the best person to open up to because she may view you as weak but I think we should all have someone. Especially a brotherhood

Only time a man will open up about shyt is when we are over being at the lowest point and risen up from it. As we are going through it nah we handling the shyt ourselves.

Yup every boy learns that lesson around 12 years old, some even earlier. Nobody is coming to dry your tears so don't bother crying. Nobody is trying to hear your problems or protect you.
The world prepares men to internalize emotions and try to deal with their stress independently and it teaches women the opposite. Compare how women experience being rejected in any capacity to how men do. Most men have become acquainted with rejection and not getting their way so it doesn't affect us the same way it affects women.
I've known women who suffered emotionally for weeks because a man they liked told them he was not an option.

Any grown man can tell you... you literally have nobody to call for something like that. We just find ways to get through it.
granted I don’t even like sharing too much about shyt on forums even with the anonymity but it is cool reading shyt from those who do share…and just knowing other folks are dealing with the same/similar shyt helps a bit…especially if it can provide a good laugh
I think it’s men. Like I have two white friends and one will reach out when he’s at a low point. Where the other will go straight hermit and figure his shyt out.
