The main character in both the the TV and film version of The Equalizer was that of a retired DIA operative.

Having a 22 year old retired federal agent would be implausible.

Burn Notice is the closest in terms of having a former agent helping regular folk, granted the main character wasn't old but he wasn't 22 either

okay, first the lil bit of dialogue we see just isn’t good. Then, Latifah has been washed for basically the entire 2000s and you would’ve thought she could’ve tried to get in shape in anticipation for this role.

it doesn’t remotely seem believable that she’s “the best we’ve ever had” when it comes to being some lone wolf vigilante assassin. She’s out here disabling dudes with guns using hand to hand combat while wearing unreleased Fall 2021 Ashley Stewart fashions.

sorry breh I’m just not buying this one at all. Not when you got chicks like Sasha Banks and Gina Carano in The Mandalorian. You mean that Latifah leapfrogged a bunch of in shape actresses and the producers of this shyt just had to have her?
