Hola Hovito is underrated.

If I was the exec. producer on the project, I would've left it off the album though.

What I would've done was release it as a one off at the end of the album run.

hard to say. Kanye had the best beats overall. I would have gone with "U Dont Know" but "Takeover" is really climbing the list for me. That beat is just fukkin hilarious, especially with dude in the background yelling "Takin over, come on!"

Just Blaze overall but i think The Ruler's Back might be the best of them all technically.
Those horns do it for me cause i think they are not sampled.

I think Just Blaze did. Now it's been said that Kanye laid the foundation, because the first joints recorded for the album were Heart of the City, Never Change, Izzo, etc. I'm not sure if Takeover was done that first weekend or not. And Bink contends that Just took his style a bit. But Just Blaze had 3 beats on the album, and 1 bonus track: Girls Girls Girls, U Don't Know, Song Cry, and Lyrical Exercise.

Song Cry is a masterpiece. Especially from a technical standpoint, the way it had so many chops but sounded so seamless. Then U Don't Know is really the only "chipmunk" beat on the album, and is one of Jay's best songs of all time. Hardest record on the album too. Girls Girls Girls is also really intricate yet smooth and seamless.

Just Blaze has even said that Kanye's remix for Girls was better, and maybe it's more catchy but I disagree that it's better. I think Just's version is much better and shows the gap in talent between the two producers at that time.

That said, I do think Kanye probably had the most consistency on the album. I'd have no issue with someone saying he or Bink had the best beats on the album. Takeover is amazing, Izzo was solid, and Heart of the City and Never Change kick off what I think is the best 4 song run on the album.

I think Bink is the anchor of the album, with the solid first song and last song, and then All I Need in between, which is the most underrated song on the album. For any classic record, the first and final song need to be perfect bookends, and Bink really does that flawlessly. The Ruler's Back is probably the 2nd best intro Jay has ever done IMO, and Momma Loves Me is one of his top introspective joints ever. That Al Green sample was flipped perfectly.

I've always believed that but I've also always thought that Just Blaze mastered that style and took it to the top.

Bink definitely has a point though. If you take Bink out of the picture and ask people who they think produced 1-900 Hustler or even You Me Him Her, I think they'd guess Just Blaze...especially 1-900 Hustler.

Just Blaze really does have some crazy bragging rights to have done U Don't Know and P.S.A.

I'd say those are arguably the the biggest "anthem" records that Jay has ever done, at least solo without any guests. They're both definitely in the top 3 IMO.

Same here. In fact it's not even close. I can't believe Just said that, whether he believes it or not. It's catchy, but everything about the original is superior to me. In fact I think the Kanye remix is the weakest of the 5 Kanye beats on the album.

BTW side note, Kanye made Izzo originally as a beat for a radio station (I wanna say Hot 97) to use as background music while the DJ talks/gives traffic reports/weather announcements, etc.
