@ this thread still going on...and
especially @ the bolded...the impact of No Limit business wise has always been overstated to a ridiculous extent considering the fact that ultimately we're talking about a company that went bankrupt and defunct as a result of their business model over 15 years ago...far as innovation goes, both No Limit and Cash Money are admitted followers and successors of the game plan put together by J Prince with Rap a Lot... A lot of the credit people are trying to give to NL really belongs to RAL...Attributing Cash Money's come up to a company that
1. They predate
2. They've outlasted
3. Was actively trying to blackball them from the industry
Is nonsensical
The Roc Nation part made chuckle cause that's as big of a reach as I've seen in a while... Roc Nation is all about corporate synergy, partnerships, and delagation and is damn near a polar opposite from the "everything under one roof DIY" approach P took with no limit
This is like asking who had the most impact in the NBA, the Larry Brown Pistons or the Popavich Spurs
CMR does not predate No Limit. No Limit started in 1990, CMR started a year later.
Nobody denies that CMR outlasted No Limit and much of that was due to the passing of the paton to Wayne. I already stated that No Limit did not set itself up for longevity.
And you don't even understand the No Limit/Roc Nation comparison. I can't recall a label that was managing athletes before No Limit. If I'm not mistaken, they managed Ricky Williams. Then you have the films, the clothes, etc. A lot of it was wack, but they were early pioneers of business ventures that artists who owned imprints weren't tapping into.
