This, Kanye makes amazing music no doubt, but his skills as an MC are deficient and you can't have a GOAT without genre defining verses.

Kanye is weird guy to rate because he manages to consistently make really good albums without being that great of an emcee. Nobody says Kanye is nicer on the mic than Nas, Pac, Biggie, or old Jay Z, but he discography does stand up to anyone's.

Kanye makes a bunch of 8/10 albums. He has very few stand out tracks in his catalogue.

I'd rather 30 10/10 tracks and 70 filler tracks > 70 good tracks, no filler but no 10/10 tracks

As to Kanye, I really like his music, but I think he only has 1 classic album but 2 albums are near classic, everything else was hit or miss for me and I disliked 808's and Yeezus though I fully understand the impact they have had on music. Also when I think of a classic, MCing has to be taken into account, and Kanye was never a 4 mic lyricist, he has standout lines, but his technical ability as a rapper is average, Dr. Dre, Pete Rock, DJ Quik, Eric Sermon, Havoc are all better producer/rappers
