sga just got the mvp. they add a title and he's in drivers seat as face of the league.

pacers not so clear. might be more of a group recognition unless someone, hali? completely takes over.

okc and sga have the most upside imo

I mean technically how wouldn’t any finals mvp move up? Even someone just putting in work in a losing team.

You can move from place 102 to 96, that’s still a move.

The level of hoop discussions is at an all time low right now....

Trying to all time rank 22 year olds....is crazy work...

It’s really not

We’re just so used to guys spending their 20s working up the mountain. If you give a franchise two rings in seven years I don’t give a fukk about what you were able to accomplish in 15 years with no ring

SGA winning the chip with a successful FMVP campaign to cap off one of the greatest guard seasons ever would bump him up a ton in my book…he’d leap a guy like Harden for example

Nah, no he’s not.

Go to your local grocery store right now and ask fifteen random people to name an NBA player. Unless you’re in OKC you won’t hear Shai’s name.

He could solidify being the top guard in the league though, if he isn’t considered it already.

imo he definitely could be. dude is squeaky clean, led the nba in scoring, won the mvp, likely to win a chip. the media loves him. okc is young and not going anywhere. they can be perennial title contenders.

not saying it can happen overnight. i am acknowledging if okc stays on this pace then dude will be it. dude checks all the boxes.

who else could it be?

Yep.

All that Anthony Edwards talk goes down the drain and the crown is indisputably Shai’s.

Also Halliburton if he balls out and the Pacers win he’s an undebatable superstar and Indiana will treat him like the Michael Jordan of the franchise.

I see what you’re saying. I assumed you meant if he won the title this year he’d be the guy. But sure, he could potentially be it but I’d doubt it, unless OKC goes on a generational run, and with the way the cap is set up it’s difficult to predict anyone going on a perennial run.

The main issue for him is LeBron is literally still playing and is still that guy. Curry is still here. Luka is in LA. If Giannis goes to NY and wins the title, or if NY stays in the title contention with Jalen, there’s that. There’s at least four or five young guys who are more popular to the general public than SGA. Plus with the way technology and social media moves forward, a “face” of the league may not even be a thing soon.

If anything, there’s a good chance that the future face of the league hasn’t even been drafted yet. There probably will just be a power vacuum when LeBron leaves.
