I'm sending this to every Drake stan I know. We all knew that defense of his lyrics are complex, mature, and original was complete bullshyt. Now we have the proof.
What in the world does that list have to do with his lyrics being complex and mature? You can have complex lyrics without having a large vocabulary.
See, I was afraid this was gonna happen. nikkas who really don't know anything about MCing skills and lyricism gonna think this means something. Large words has absolutely NOTHING to do with how complex you are. You can be complex using 4 letter words.
REAL RAP! BARS!"Lyrical, miracle, spiritual, spherical, here I go, stereo, cereal, hear me flow"
Example of a cac that listens to hip hop I was referring to my brehsSize of vocabulary is intimately connected to scope of expression. This has nothing to do with large or small words, but the number of different words. The more words you have at your disposal, the more expressive you can be. It doesn't mean that there aren't rappers who can do more with less, because there are, but all things being equal, a bigger vocab means wider palette to paint on.
dude, cats like wu tang literally tossed in random words to fill space while lacking any ability to stylistically present their material.Size of vocabulary is intimately connected to scope of expression. I've never heard anyone put together the words K does. By far dudes vocab is more expansive than the obvious lyricists listed in this thread....

See how this idiot of a cac who has a cac perception of what this rap sht is, gets all giddy when finding out an MC uses less words than another to determine talent
These cacs are on one maaan

Bruh got too excited when he saw Drake, sent a text to every Drake fan he knew like "See, I TOLD you Aesop Rock was more lyrical than Drake!!"
dude, cats like wu tang literally tossed in random words to fill space while lacking any ability to stylistically present their material.
and i KNOW this drake shyt doesn't count his mixtape stuff so whats the point?
No it isn't.
And your argument wasn't about expression, you said Drake isn't a complex lyricist because he wasn't as high on the list of large vocabulary having rappers. Know who else isn't high on the list? Lupe and Eminem. E-40 is near the front, so is Wale. Going by your theory, Lil Kim is a better lyricist than Royce Da 5'9, Scarface, Jadakiss, 2Pac, DMX. Fat Joe is a better lyricist than Eminem and Rakim. Come on man. That vocabulary shyt has nothing to do with anything. Is it nice to have some more words to use to express yourself? Sure. But it's much more important what you do with the words you use rather than how many different ones you're using.
Listen to how emotional you are. Calm the fukk down. I'm Black and I've never listened to an Aesop Rock album in my entire life. I grew up on early-mid 90s hip-hop. Don't be mad because I think Drake is garbage.
