Minus a negative in an equation structured like this equals a +. Basically, the opposite of subtraction would be an addition. 9/3 = 3, 3 + 2 = 5 then - (- 5) = 5. So 5+5. It’s a basic order of operations problem. Are we not teaching on this level anymore?

In all seriousness, it's 10. Just remember parentheses, exponents, multiplication, division, addition, subtraction.
(9/3) = 3
+
2-(-5) is just 2+(-1)*(-5) = 2+5 = 7
= 10
(9/3) = 3
+

There answer is in fact 10. Two inverse operations next to each other become positive turning one half of the problem into 2+5, while the other half is 9/3 which is 3. If you add you get 10.
