Anyone who says kanye west is a fuccing retard and doesn't understand the premise of the thread :snoop:

Kanye West is exactly where he should be. His ghostwriters' songwriting skills for singles is phenomenal and Mike Dean and his entire legion of co-producers are the truly great hip hop producers. The nicca has survived 3 clear sonic changes in hip hop whilst relying on his ability to find good ghost writers and producers.

Plus he has an insane eye for visuals. Foh :what:

fixed that for you dun

You obviously got some bias against Gucci, I get it.... I was actually going to make a spin off thread until I see these names you listing, and it's no point...

You got your own warped perception of an ATL legend, probably cus you born and raised....

It'd be like if I say HBK is a top 5 WWE legend of all time, and you come back and say some shyt like, "Hell no he aint! what about Flashy Freddy Blassie... blah blah" and a bunch of other old school ass nikkas...

Just cus them nikkas older or came first, don't mean they had a bigger impact on the city then Gucci. I believe you truly believe the shyt you saying, but that don't make it true.

T.I., Ludacris, even Jeezy... They are higher than Gucci on the all time RAP LEGENDS list.... But not on the ATL LIST... there's a difference.

Gucci not an ATL legend... he an ATL ICON.... T.I. was a mainstream star, not an "ATL" star so much... Or not as much as Gucci was, at least....

And for you to say a fukkin Hitman Sammy Sam AND T.I. are both ahead of gucci is just corny... A mainstream nikka and an underground nikka....? Make up your mind on your argument / angle :camby:

U must have never heard the psc in the streets series. Gucci mane underground impact is nowhere as big as tips in Atlanta. Tip has p diddly host one of his shyts just based off pure street buzz. Tip really birth the shyt outta Gucci and all these other trap rappers, he's them nikkas blueprint. And yes Sam is a Atlanta hip hop legend.

Ask any nikka from Atlanta who the legends are I bet

Kast, goodie, kilo, Raheem, Sam, tip come up a lot more frequent than Gucci.

add Drake to that equation...Kanye put the bullet in the gun but drake totally pulled the trigger..thats metaphorically speakin...Kanye is ole school wit it at heart regardless of the Yeezus tape..while Drake is a psuedo singer that happens to dabble in the hip hop world but his main focus is to sing..similar to how Jaime Foxx got his career..i'll do comedy but really i wanna sing...see thats why i fukkks wit Kanye cause..he has a soul undertneath...at any given moment that ole Kanye can apppear..Drake got in the game as an actor so thats how i treat him...just an actor....and if u aint under twenty one and still bump dude..u a homo !

Kanye West.

He started out under No I.D. as somewhat of an apprentice. Then he was a producer for D. Dot. Then he started making a name for himself as a producer. Few people believed in his skills as a rapper, yet he pops up on a song with Jay. This leads to an appearance as a rapper and producer on Twista's "Slow Jamz", which leads to him releasing his own solo rap album he'd been working on for years in College Dropout. That album goes on to spawn several hits and changes Hip Hop propelling Kanye into a rap star. His spot is solidified with the release of Late Registration. Then comes Graduation and it's at this point that he becomes a superstar in music in general. Everything after has critics salivating over everything he releases.

Imagine being a dude in the early 00s that wore fitted polos, vests, and fitted clothes that is from the burbs that was in an environment filled with super thugged out rappers like Beans, Bleek, and so on. :whew:

Imagine how no rapper at the time rapped liked you and everyone accused you of being "white washed" because you didn't conform to hood standards? :whoo:

Now Imagine that the label head and your surrogate daddy in music passed up your music because it wasn't marketable and was "too different."

Imagine winning the respect of everyone, from Hip Hop heads, to street dudes, to legit musicians, with that style? :ahh:

Ye had every reason to quit and every reason to conform, but he stuck to it and he had a hell of a run. :salute:
