:whoa: kimosabe Tip & Toomp vs Jeezy & Shawty Redd is on the same level

I don't know about that one ...

"Dope Boyz" is easily a classic trap anthem

"Be Easy" / "Look What I Got" were a pretty big deal too

"You Don't Know Me" was a certified banger

"What You Know" is a classic period

Now Shawty Redd and Jeezy have great chemistry and were a force, but they don't have songs as big as those were. Take chart success out of the equation, those T.I./Toomp collaborations set the streets on fire. That led to Toomp working with Jeezy, Jay, Kanye, Nas, The Game and others with a similar sound that he'd carved out for Tip.

He did drop a lot of feature verses and people are waiting to see what he comes with next. Plus he was on em new album and toured with em and is on tour with kanye. :manny:

That ain't nothing compared to how other cats drop mad mixtapes, be on mad videos, and so on.
I won't say that Kendrick peaked but he is gonna near a serious hit to outsell gkmc. That nikka expectations are gonna be damn near nas post illmatic status.

You right. I believe that he is prepping himself for that shyt. He working with DJ Quik :whew:
You think he outselling that last album? I think buddy peaked.

If we really be real, Macklemore overachieved and came out of nowhere in 2013, at least from where I'm sitting.

All time I have to say Jay Z Kanye or Eminem shyt even Pac did a lot in the short time he was on Earth

Macklemore came out and got the gay mafia to help him. Lets see if he can keep up that momentum.
Yeah, it was like all odds were stacked against Kanye to succeed, but he overcame them all. For that, I respect him. Not only that, but dude was releasing songs like "Jesus Walks" and "All Falls Down" and both were successful in the midst of Crunk music and G-Unit dominating Hip Hop at the time. Then he went up against the biggest machine in Hip Hop by going up against 50 Cent and came out on top.

Ye changed the demographics of Hip Hop single handily. That is monumental in itself.

As many have stated, diddy is definitley up there as hip hop's biggest overachiever. He is a hustler for real. He soaked up the game quick from Andre Harrel and hit the pavement movin.

But 2chainz is for sure one of hip hop's biggest overachievers. Dude went from bein a weed carrier for Luda, to puttin out 2 solid down south albums with Playaz Circle. (Both albums were highly slept on)

2chainz career could have been over, along side with Lil Fate, I-20 and Field Mob. But Tity kept grindin. nikkaz had basically wrote him off. But he kept releasin those Trapaveli tapes and got poppin again.

Some peopl think that Tity is a new artist, but dude been grindin for a minute. And not to mention 2chainz is a bit older, so his succes came later in his life (which is rare for an emcee)

I think Kendrick helping himself not dropping mad videos and mixtapes, he got nikkas waiting on the next move not getting overexposed and his music had great replay value so nikkas still bumping his older shyt over these nikkas multiple mixtapes. Drake and cole did the same think and ASAP rocky in a way

gucci, ross, pitbull, florida, jim jones, asap ferg, nicki

Jim Jones got the smash single "Ballin" back in 06 that no one expected him to have. He made that single last 18 damn months and even had the Giants anthem when they won that SB back in 08. 18 months on one damn song was extrodinary. He made Skull Gang have a buzz (temporary) and he outshined every single back in 2006.

Ross did get lucky after that CO shyt, but his work ethic made him who he is.

Pitbull and Flo-Rida capitalized the digital single when it first came out in the mid 00s, when people were still confused and angry on how music distribution changed.

Nah, there is no denying how much impact and chemistry TIP & Toom had, they definitly had some bangers. And yes after workin with TIP, other artists started checkin for Toomp.

BUT. Just go thu track after track on TM101, The Recession. Shawty Redd added his stamp on the trap sound. When "air forces" came on. "Who dat" "gangsta music" I could go on breh

Riff raff comes 2 mind when I think of overachievers. I seen this nikka getting interviewed on hot 97 and touring overseas, he's one of the most garbage muthafukkas I've ever heard. No way he is supposed to have any kind of fan base

2 Chainz had unexpected success last year. too bad that he couldn't keep it up.

Another contender is Lil Wayne's run. He was dropping mixtapes from way back. He had solo albums that barely went platinum prior to 08. From 05 to early 2012, he went on a run in music that no one ever expected. He was on everyone's singles, he was on everyone's remixes, and he dropped thousands of tracks. When he blew up the way he sold like that in 2008, he took over music like none other. He slow down this year, yes, but from that time period, he was unstoppable.

Honestly if u were listening 2 them later cash money albums like that Turk untamed guerrilla, the project English and that last bg album on cash money, plus 500 degreez and Mamie fresh album you could kinda see it coming. That nikka was starting to become a beast. And them squad tapes :lawd:
