Macho Man. I bought into Jesse saying that Liz was a goldigger and Hulk was running game. I felt bad for Mach because he was the fukking world champion and he had to deal with all this other shyt outside of the ring. I was sympathetic to his struggle. Of course I didn't see this all unfold live but when I was young I could rent old wrestling VHS tapes so I caught up on all this shyt.

I remember cheering for Bret in the Canada vs. U.S. angle. I always liked Bret and I felt he had a point. He wasn't whining. He really was being screwed left and right.

You ain't shyt if you didn't mark out for this.

Sheeeiiit...WCW was at times amazing because I would sometimes root for everyone.

I'd be like "Outsideeeeeeeeers.....:lolbron:"

"THE DIAMOND CUTTER! FEEL THE BANG! :gladbron:"

"STING IS IN THE RAFTERS! :banderas:"

All in the same segment....:wow:

Honestly...the only guys that would consistently get the :camby:treatment were dudes like Curt Hennig and Jeff Jarrett.

Part of this was just being a kid/more markish, but I disagree with those that put all of this modern cynicism on nostalgia. I would be more into the modern WWE roster if they made some changes.

I was Ravishing Rick Rude for Halloween in '88... so yeah.

*SIDENOTE: I started watching wrestling in late-87 when I saw WrestleMania III on tape- I actually liked heel Macho Man from seeing that tape, but he had turned face by late-'87 so I'm not sure that counts.
