The way he let his friends flex on him yet follow them around and tried to do everything they did made him a follower to me .

He did have a low self esteem which is something I tried to help him with . When his friends use to disrespect him , i would defend him but I’m a woman so they didn’t take me seriously .

Did you ever ask your ex why he was"friends" with those dudes?

After 30 it seemed like a lot of my exes tried to separate me from my friends in favor of being a homebody. The situation you described with your exes "friends" would have been easy work for the women I dated

If there's a hierarchy amongst your friends, that isn't a true friendship. :hubie:. You should be able to kick it with your fellas without feeling like you're always just going along with what others want or feeling like you have to initiate everything. True friendships have an even flow amongst the group.

A ‘leader’ is corny af, but friend groups definitely do have ‘glue guys’ like they’re the ones cool w/ everyone in the group, and if they can’t make it out that night or go on the trip, it’ll be a less fun time. Maybe they have a plug on cool spots to go, maybe they bring the bytches, maybe they’re just funny and they keep the mood up, but it’s generally a better time when those guys are around etc.

But it’s not no ‘leader’ shyt, and a group of friends can have multiple people who are ‘glue guys’. Thinking you’re the ‘leader’ is some narcissistic shyt, and designating somebody else the leader is pathetic :mjlol:
My hoop group definitely has a glue guy. He was the dude who would organize the locations of the runs and the invite list. Dude would literally send out calendar invites and cancel if we didn’t have enough people. Bro tore his Achilles and the whole hoop group is in disarray. People can’t be bothered to even do simple things like rsvp for a run. Smh

I’ll say this though, if the crew cant or wont get together without one particular person…that person is the leader
That’s the thing about my friends there isn’t that guy, say it’s 4 of us any one of us are liable to hang out with the other on any given day without the other 2 involved

I had a boyfriend of two years that was the one getting joked on , made fun of and his friends constantly asking me what I see in him and all trying to talk to me on the low . Even when he checked some of them about it, they still bytched him.

My current boyfriend is the one that has put all his homies on to new jobs / business ventures etc. He throws the events and his friends respect me as his girlfriend and never overstep boundaries

The first one didn't have any friends, and shouldn't even been hanging around them nikkaz

a man shouldn't be spend too much time with friends after a certain age anyway to have such dynamics in the first place
