Zorn was an awful coach breh. That MNF fake field goal call. Call a timeout, lets run the same play again.
Rich Kotite on the Jets was incredible. A lot of you kids make fun of the Jets now, but the Jets are forever a laughing stock in my mind because of Kotite.
Colorado does not suck as a program?
How old are you? They were one of the best programs in America. shyt, just 12 years ago they put 62 on a Nebraska team a lot of people thought was among the best of all time on the day after Thanksigiving. Colorado vs. Nebraska used to be THE game in America.
not defending zorn in the least. just that he had no business being there at all. can't completely blame a 4th grade special ed kid for failing calculus. kotite had a lot more to his resume and was still worse than zorn. that's

Kotite's Eagles kept getting worse too. IIRC, he was about to get fired from the Eagles but some how the Jets wanted him.
That wasnt Dan Hawkins, that was the coach before him, Gary Barnett.
Gary Barnett is a vile human being, but he was a good coach.

Hawkins didnt beat anyone good at Boise. The heights they have now is solely down to CHris Petersen.
Hawkins goes 8-4 his first year there. Then Petersen arrives, and they start losing one game a season. Hawkins leaves for Colorado, and Boise continues losing a game a season while Colorado becomes the worst BCS team in the country. Hmm, I wonder what happened?

He once stalled for 10 minutes to find a pinch hitter. Upon realizing he didn't have anyone left, he tried to send up a player who had already pinch earlier in the game.
He once called for a relief pitcher despite not having told anyone in the bullpen to being warming up.
One day in his office, he was in the middle of telling a player he was being sent to a minor league affiliate...until a different player wandered by and he decided to demote that guy instead
All of this in the span of 58 games.

my bad, Peterson was there with Hawkins. Peterson stays and Boise is winning BCS bowls and beating BCS conference schools. Hawkins beats no one of any note at Boise, then leaves for Colorado and destroys the program.
Colorado does not suck as a program. That is potentially a really strong program that Hawkins moved to Bolivian.

But the nosedive was almost instantaneous. He only stayed as long as he did because of his contract and the school's refusal to pay someone else
I'm from here, and I was a Buff fan back in the Rashan Salaam and 5th Down days. They aren't a STRONG program by any means...but they were always at least competitive. Under Hawkins leadership they became one of the worst programs in the nation.
