Jay, but for a street corner Queens hustler, 50 painted that picture very well, and his earlier work, which is very reminiscent of Jay is very much true to that New York hustle, sound and feel. He had glimpses until about 2007, when he finally flamed out, and along the way he made some classic hustler music, "Position of Power", "Hustlers Ambition", "Ski Mask Way", but Jay, in his prime, as always went way deeper, and painted masterpieces (Reasonable Doubt and In My Lifetime) of the life and times of a hustler, while 50 just gave you a good episode once in awhile. The difference is nuance, 50 would never give you a You Must Love Me, Regrets, A Week Ago, type of track.
