i dont know why i thought of this but im listening to that new Genesis by The-Dream, and im also just getting into The Weeknd.

who y'all think got better music? better catalog? more classics? (songs or albums/projects)

im biased cause i havent gotten into The Weeknd fully yet, just about to begin listening to his music

im going with The-Dream, he got some classic material, and his new stuff is still great.

The-Weeknd is fraud. He jacked Jeremy Rose whole concept of drugged out rnb. I got no love for fraud. He's from city and makes good music but Dream shyts all over him. The Weeknd is a bonfide popstar now.

Abel was just a singer. Jeremy Rose gave him the concept of singing of drugs and shyt. Jeremy wanted to do a group thing him being the producer and Abel being the singer and call it the Weeknd. Abel jacked the style and the name :russ:.

Why do you think his debut album was so garbage? It had no direction or whatever. He needed label and pop producers to help him on his 2nd album.

:dwillhuh: But u skip Thursday and EOS, his debut was trash cause the label tried to force him into a box when he not that type of cookie cutter artist, his fanbase doesn't want songs like "u belong to the world" and shyt, we want coke head songs like "can't fell my face"

Regardless of where he got the name and shyt or style he didn't steal cause they were working on it together, he ended up not wanting to work wit dude, keep it moving, If the weeknd wasnt the that important why wasn't dude able to get a artist to fill that role. It's a million weeknd copy cats now, why haven't he got one :usure:

The Weeknd.

His music has more layers, more depth, more texture. The Dream is good too but he doesn't paint pictures with his words the way the Weeknd does. He doesn't explore the same themes. Sonically and musically they are comparable but as an overall, the Weeknd makes better music. Trilogy still gets regular play. I only bump a few songs here and there from the Dream. His music doesn't have the same staying power.
