I don't give a shyt about supporting the artists they're rich.ALL of em

The same artists braggin about maybachs and bugattis and having basquits in their bathrooms don't need no 9.99-12.99 or whatever the price albums cost these days :heh: fukk supporting them

yeah if you bragging about blowing away all your cash on frivolous luxury items, you not getting my money

i buy albums for wale, j cole etc dudes like that who dress like bums and who id give change to if i saw em on the street

I have never bought a music album in my life yet. I was meaning to go out and buy Nas' albums since I Nasty Nas is the GOAT.

Cole's album was on Sony's Music Unlimited service and I just used that to listen to it.

I get what some of yall sayin about supportin' ya favorite artists and what not...

I also understand the muthafukkaz who enjoy collectin' shyt n readin' the booklet on some nostalgic shyt...

BUT as long there's internet n I can get the music for free I ain't buyin' a muthafukkin' album in my life again... Neither am I coppin' a single off itunes or nothin' like that...

N its not cuz Im broke cuz believe me Im very very fukkin far from it... Im just not gonna spend a dime on somethin' I can get for free (thats how you build wealth nikkaz, not overspendin')...

Finally, what the fukk do I look like supportin' a nikka who stays braggin' bout havin' more money than I do like Jay-Z? fukk him n his production costs :pacspit:.... Or a nikka like Meek Mill braggin' bout spendin' 50 thou at the strip club... If they sayin' they ballin' like that Ima take they word for it n not cop they shyt n start gettin' my bread up like they tellin' me to do...

Long response :-\

Not to sound holier than thou, because I've downloaded my share of stuff, but it's still stealing. I know a lot of artists personally, and I have to deal with a lot of them also, so I know I'm in the minority, but I actually feel worse sometimes when I download stuff sometimes.

More often than not, when I buy something, I usually sampled it ahead of time anyway, so I'm more happy to use the hell out of it. I gave SO much run to Kendrick's "good kid m.A.A.d city," Ab-Soul's "Control System," Danny!'s "Payback," Danny Brown and Black Milk's "Black and Brown," etc. :lawd:

Plus, you're more likely to have memorable experiences when you buy an album, IMO. I remember skipping school after lunch to listen to my freshly copped "Get Rich Or Die Tryin," I remember buying Wu-Tang Clan's "The W" when I was overseas, I even remember ordering Royce's "Death Is Certain" and "College Dropout" the same day online, and waiting around in the my dorm for them to arrive and wondering which one I was going to listen to first. :ohlawd: When I saw the great numbers that GKMC did, I really felt like I was a part of something.

Not saying that having dope memories with downloading albums is impossible, but they're more monolithic to me. It's just "Google, click, download." :manny:

Plus, I figure if an artist can genuinely enrich my life with a work of art that I'm consuming reguarly, the least I could do is give $10 once in a while. Some of these cats really put their all into these records. And it isn't just about how much money they get from each album sold - when you buy an album, you're showing that artist's record label that they're worth keeping on board, which helps you continue to get the music you rock with.

I've downloaded a lot of stuff, but when I do buy, that's what I have in mind.

i like to support my fav artosts and good music in general. i don't buy as many albums as i should or used to but i make sure i cop the shyt i realy dig. pre ordered the new Tech N9ne already, copped that Ghostface and will always cop a new Nas album. i ALWAYS download first tho, usually cos it leaks way before the physical release and i just wanna hear the music but also to make sure it's worth my money.
