I could make the argument Zack Morris was the true genius on the show being that he had the ability to make everyone else do whatever he wanted and Screech was the dumbest because he did whatever Zack wanted him to or would do anything to get Lisas attention no matter how crazy it was.

You could but still no one would say that Zack was a "nerd". Your "geniuse" about Zack would be about his charisma and gift of gab while Screech is about book smarts. Again, the nerd stereotype is about being book smart. Your argument is like saying Will was the geniuse cuz of his charisma and Carlton was dumb as rocks

They aren't, they just socialize within their own circle, like everyone else. Anyone would seem "awkward" out of their element. If say a jock tried to hang with the bookworms, he would seem well out of place. Same difference. It's just that you have all of these stupid societal stigmas where certain types of cliques think that they set the standard, and those types of people are often those who peak at high school.

The thing is "jocks", "geeks", etc are Extremes of people who have interest in something.

You can enjoy and partake in something without obsessing in it. Like I said I knew cats who would be in class talking about last weeks episode of DBZ then be on the corner slanging dope right after. These titles make it where kids are afraid to own who they are.

For example being a Lame imo is trying to be something you aren't, thus you come off as fake/awkward.

That being said a Nerd isn't a lame per say if they own and love who they are but it still does not mean they are not awkward, how ever a nerd becomes a lame when they try to fake the funk.

Carlton Banks was dumb as rocks.

Carlton form the earlier seasons and the later seasons were two VERY different characters.

But even without that he was still able to pull Myra

:manny:
Just shows what simple upgrades to your style can do for you. At first you might wonder why a fine ass mufukka like Myra would want urkel, but lets be real.

The difference between this

and this

latest

Was just a simple taking off of the glasses and walking straight. Urk had potential, just had to use a damn machine to get there instead of simple changing shyt up like us normal folk do.

Right there lies the problem. These little titles or social heirarchies that seem to be established in HS. If you aren't following a certain type of group think or share certain types of interests, you are deemed an outcast. It's stupid, and yes, that's exactly why people end up afraid to be themselves.

It's not even the fact you follow a group or think a certain way, it is the fact you are ashamed of what you do and lack confidence.

I have seen ton of kids who were super deep into playing video games, gifted in a certain academic subject, etc AND they owned it AND they could articulate things about it to people who were not into it thus they were just seen as "The cool dude who likes video games" or something. They then become the go to people when others have questions or what to talk about that kind of stuff.

That's definitely what a lot of social interaction comes down to, confidence. With confidence, you defy those labels and stereotypes, now what is true, is that the majority of "nerds" lack confidence, and that's where the stereotype comes in.

Case in point, not too long ago, I got a chick who didn't even fukk with anime to watch attack on titan with me and chill :youngsabo:

no in the hell they aren't

Nerd is a relative term. By my definition the pic you posted is of weirdos not nerds.

Whole thread reeks of insecurity and projection. Nothing in life is black and white. But I've personally seen a lot of the athletes I grew up with end up on drugs, in jail, or just failed some type of other way. A lot of the time people who peak young also crash young. They go through life too fast.
Kids who take longer to bloom have more longetivity.

True, at the same time, I've seen "nerds" fukk their lives up too though. But as you said, nothing's black and white at all. Everything's extremes with people, especially on the internet.

Do you even understand the purpose of this thread?

Being Smart does not = Being weird, awkward, geek, nerd, etc.

What is insecure about establishing being smart is not a negative thus those weirdos need to call a spade a spade and stop hiding under the guise of "i`m too smart and hardworking thats why nobody likes me" when that is not the case.
