Common sense is never used in these comments

Jay z has sold millions and millions of records it’s literally impossible for him to ONLY be big in NYC or the East Coast

The South as a region is huge and much bigger then NYC so by this logic Boosie should be selling more or as many records as Jay when it’s not even close

Boosie only has a cult following he is not huge anywhere near the level of Jay

I never even knew he existed till a few years ago

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
This makes zero sense

Southern rappers work with everybody :dahell:

J.I.D. did a song with durk, trae tha truth and trouble got with lupe, curren$y got a tape and plenty songs with alchemist, gucci mane and Talib made a song together, g unit was beloved in the south, Wayne studied under dipset and Philly rap, real boston richey is a Florida nikka but rap like he from the D, plus Pharrell produced for your man jay :heh:

But, but, but we're so biased
Imagine not agreeing with this while being in a thread boasting about Boosie over Jay Z

That’s top biasness.

Jay Z last album sold over a million in the south era. Meanwhile Boosie called out his fans after he sold 500 in his last album.

JAY Z literally sold more albums in the south than boosie

Let me ask you something, would Jay be as big as he is if the Southern and West Coast regions didn't embrace him?

If Jay stays with his formula from 1996, producers and all, everything Easy Coast, would he be in the position he's in today??

No Kanye, No Southern Producers or features, everything on the East Coast
Would he be as big?

Because you’re comparing whole coasts/regions to ONE CITY. Of course you need more then one city to sell in to become huge

No rapper can become huge off a city. The southern region is way bigger then NYC so to say the south didn’t need outside help but NYC does is such a dumb argument

You very well understand what's being said but its hard for you to believe it.

nikkas down here and on the west coast, middle of America, weren't on Jay Z coat tail like you nikkas up North were

This makes no sense

Jay has sold millions and millions of records you can’t become as big as him off one part of the country

I’m told Boosie is huge in the south but the south is way bigger then the northeast so if this was true Boosie should be selling more records or nearly as many records then Jay which isn’t even close to true

Boosie has a cult following he is not hugely popular the numbers don’t back it up

Boosie was in the era where mixtapes were king

Folks weren't buying albums like that down here

Bootleg cd's and mixtape downloads don't get counted but you can't leave him out of the discussion

You'd have to be from here to understand

Boosie, webbie, wop, and jeezy had the whole South on lock

I grew up down here

I'm one of the few Jay-Z fans I know.. Hell I'm one of the only nikkas I know that listen to rap outside of the south inside my age group..

I know entire hoods that don't listen to any of East Coast shyt.. It's not a big deal, it just is what it is.. Coming out of high school in 04 Boosie was God down here.. Then Gucci.. Plies had a short run... Before them you had BG, Soulja Slim, and a little bit of Wayne.. Then you had Trick before them.. so on and so forth..

My nikkas used to try to clown me for listening to Jay.. :yeshrug:

Didn't say they didn't. Just saying how it is down here. Most songs people love are from his mixtapes. Cause mixtapes were bigger than albums then.

Right now mixtapes and albums may as well be the same thing, tbh. But back then, I can't remember many people that were crazy about anybody actual albums except for outkast or T.I.

And you not knowing who boosie is till vlad is on you :russ:

That's like trying to shade mac dre to a bay nikka when you just heard about from from reading Wikipedia

You clearly aint informed enough to speak on it then :mjlol:

I’ve never heard Boosies name mentioned or music played in NYC ever so it’s not odd at all for me not to know who the fukk he was

Boosie has a cult following he is not some huge star.

He’s more well known for his interviews then music
