Inspired by my shuffle going from Have you seen her to a Jacquees song “let a nygga inside” I need to delete from my shuffle.:beli:

Who started it and when? I can’t find anything on the net. :patrice:

The earliest I can remember is Donnell Jones on U Know What’s Up in 99 with “Me and my nyggas be rolling”

Pos rep for a reasonable answer!

I believe it was popular around the blaxploitation .. but I wouldn’t know

The earliest recorded songs with blacks saying it were 1910's and 1920's. Ive heard it used in numerous early black blues-folk songs. As far as R&B/soul goes, it was sometime in the 1960s and 1970's.
