I'm not talking about a specific day, hell I can't remember a specific day, but I have some vivid memories of January 2010...
A decade ago I was 20 years old, and had only been outta prison for three months, after 3½ years in. I still wasn't quite yet acclimated back into the real world yet. I had dreadlocks, and didn't think I'd be around past 22-23, and as ice mentioned before, I was okay with that. The only thing I wanted to do was flip narcotics and burn nikkas up, I wanted to re-establish myself as a street figure...
So by January I was well into that, small time weed dealer. I was still in North Carolina, I hadn't yet been back to California upon getting out...
January was the first couple shootings I got involved in upon getting out. Me and a homeboy of mine robbed these cats outside the club one night, at a car wash next door, didn't hardly get shyt but some light jewelry and like $2-300, but them dudes tried to run us over on they way out the parking lot so we emptied on them. Wasn't no marksman, between the two of them only one of them got hit if I recall correctly (and it was two of us shooting)...
I had an issue somewhere else in that month where a guy who helped set me up back in November '09 to buy two fake pistols, I saw him on a back block one night, jumped out, and shot him once. One of the cats from around the way went to jail for this a few weeks later, spent like 10-11 months in before they dropped the charges, and never snitched. The guy who was shot never told, down the line there was a little static with his brother and sister later that year, but he never told. Police were checking me out around that incident, I remember one dude telling me they were going door-to-door because I didn't have an address they knew of, but never was pulled or called in...
I was in New York in early 2012 and they were still trying to nail me on that one. That's the last time I heard any investigations about it though...
This could have been February, but I got pulled over in a rural ass county going 76/55 with like 8 guns on me. I knew they were gonna ask me to step out since I was going so fast but they didn't. Another lookout...
So that was me ten years ago, January 2010. Had a girlfriend who had a young daughter, but didn't really like her. I was concerned with dealing and gunplay...
Needless to see that version of myself is ancient, but it was part of who I was at a point in time...
Also got pneumonia or the flu (can't remember which) in late December '09/early '10, directly because as the seasons changed, I was still hanging outside with no jackets on, moving around in the rain and freezing temps. Went to the hospital and that shyt put me up for about 4 days I believe, 4 days laying in bed once I left the hospital. I was sick as fukk...
