If race is a social construct that's created by the dominant society in a given place, then yes, the holocaust was about race because the Nazis made it that way. I was listening to talk radio (Urban View) a lot this week and of course they were talking about Whoopi. I was on the side of most in here about if you ask a Jewish person what race are they, they would say white. But they had a professor from Howard I think and she changed my mind a bit. She was saying Whoopi wasn't entirely wrong but you have to go back to the time the Holocaust was taking place. That the Nazis looked at the Jews as an inferior race and that even though they had white skin too, they had to be "exterminated" cause they could taint "real white people". She was also saying that even in America, at one point Irish or Italians wasn't looked at as white so that kinda changed my mind. But as far as today, I still agree that Jews have it both ways as far as they're white until someone "insults" them
