I was listening to talk radio (Urban View) a lot this week and of course they were talking about Whoopi. I was on the side of most in here about if you ask a Jewish person what race are they, they would say white. But they had a professor from Howard I think and she changed my mind a bit. She was saying Whoopi wasn't entirely wrong but you have to go back to the time the Holocaust was taking place. That the Nazis looked at the Jews as an inferior race and that even though they had white skin too, they had to be "exterminated" cause they could taint "real white people". She was also saying that even in America, at one point Irish or Italians wasn't looked at as white so that kinda changed my mind. But as far as today, I still agree that Jews have it both ways as far as they're white until someone "insults" them

I mean they all Europeans and yes Italians, Jewish, Irish etc etc all beefed with eachother ethnically. It’s a damn ignorance but make no mistake. Black men and women wasn’t getting lynched, killed, and called the n word by no damn German Nazis during slavery and even post slavery before WW2. Them spanish colonizers such as Columbus was still some damn Europeans who committed genocide. Places like Dominican Republic, Haiti etc etc was still slave drop off points colonized by the French and Spanish Europeans. All them groups u named have participated in our RACIAL struggle as BLACK men and women in this country. So I don’t give a fukk what “in fighting” they used to do. It’s been known. They even depict the divide they had in this country in a million mob movies so it don’t take a history buff to know that. However. It’s still a disingenuous argument. That “social construct” shyt is an argument for the birds imo. People know what this shyt is. They all crackas. With different ethnic backgrounds. If race is a social construct that's created by the dominant society in a given place, then yes, the holocaust was about race because the Nazis made it that way. Doesn't matter what we think Jews or anyone else is. We as Americans don't get to define other people's shyt for them no more than we don't want others defining our shyt.
