Low Key Frog and Crono has some of the nicest team up attacks in the game. Slurp Cut and X Slash could carry you to the and game.

Yep. I ran Frog, Chrono and Robo through most of the game and made it a Frog, Chrono, Magus team toward the end. Though I'm sure that's what most people who played it did.
