Ridiculous statement. With him on the court they’re literally the best rated starting 5 in the league (+21.4 pt margin, Warriors were +20 and Cavs were +12) and had the scoring margin of a 68 win team, w/o him they had the scoring margin of a 34 win team.

I’d say in no other team sport does having the elite talent play such a glaringly imperative role in championship success as it does in nba basketball... all that regular season hype gets a reality check when you give the best of the best multiple times to play against a team

You can get generational talent via free agency and wheeling and dealing though. It's not just through tanking, especially given we've had bad drafts. It's partly through the Draft and partly through free agency. LeBron to Miami, shaq to LA, Pau to LA, KD to GS, the Boston Big 3, etc.
