Gettign voted 5th, 6th 7th and 12th outta how many players in the nba? so that means shyt, beating out hundreds of other plays to get voted top 10.

Wow, I guess the school system really did fail you.

Yes, the school system failed me because I don't consider Paul getting .8% of the DPOY vote last year as meaning shyt.

Steve Nash got .6% of the MVP vote last year but no one considered him a contender for the award.

This year seems to be the most open for DPOY in a while. I could see them giving it Lebron since they've hinted at giving him one for couple of years now.

Except Lebron does not deserve it this year.. :jawalrus:

i didnt know Noah played shooting guard. What does wade n lebron rapin chi means da bulls guards and sf aint good enough. dats no fault off Noahs. Noah still had 3 steals and 2 blocks dat gm. almost got a triple dbl, had 8 boards and 8 assists. fukk noah got more assists than nebody on da heat. n dont come wit dis crap dat lebron played pf, cuz heat started bosh and haslem.

Noah got raped by both bron n wade on multiple plays he's a good help defender but he ain't shyt one on one and don't deserve to be in the discussion

Joakim Noah is the Defensive Player Of The Year so far.

He's averaging 11.3 rebounds per game, 2.1 blocks per game, and 1.3 steals per game

When he's on the court, the Bulls are giving up 101.5 pts per 100 possessions and allowing an effective FG% of 45.7% compared to when he's off the court, the Bulls are giving up 106 pts per 100 Poss. and allowing a 49% eFG

LeBron doesnt have that type of impact on the Heat's defense:manny:

Ur %'s are actually wrong, as your calculating how many votes he got, outta the other players who got votes. Defensive player of the year is between ALL players in the nba, so even the dude who came 20th in vote, still beat out hundreds of other nba players who got no votes.

its gotta b Noah or one of da grizzlies. Chi is in the playoffs, without d rose. they have no scoring, but still winning gms based on defense, so naturally the best defensive player on that team gonna get sum serious recognition.

Larry Sanders has been killin em dis year wit blocks, but the lack of playing time earlier this year gonna hurt his votes.

And with Iguodala on the court? The Nuggets surrender just 100.1 points per 100 possessions, better than 8 points fewer than they do with him on the bench.

But wait, there's more! According to Synergy Sports, Iguodala is fifth among players (with 400 minimum possessions) in overall points per possession allowed, he causes the fifth-most turnovers of any player (with 100 possessions) guarding the pick and roll, and most important, he's the second best player in guarding players one on one, in isolation, minimum 50 possessions. He's the only wing player in the top five.

And yet those numbers don't do service to the intangibles or process of the work he does, guarding point guards, shooting guards, small forwards, power forwards. He switches from opponent to opponent, pressuring, contesting and making good possessions into bad.

Paul George has been the most effective/impressive perimeter defender this season.

It's pretty much a race between gasol and noah. with lebron and george right on their heels.

I cant believe it took this long for pg to get mentioned :beli:

he has been the most efficient defender of any sf not named :troll: in the entire league

dude is pretty much a taller wade with a better jumper and much quicker off the dribble, there even more comparable on defense.

I agree on :noah: being the clear cut winner.

larry sanders is a sleeper he leads the league in blocks.
