I think the race is between Joakim Noah and Larry Sanders, but even though Larry Sanders lead the L in blocks, he only plays 26 mpg.
He has very nice defensive stats in that time period as well as

defense per 100 Poss on/off court stats.
What's holding him back is that, he barely plays half the game so he remains pretty fresh during the game, while Noah has to hold down the fort 39 mpg. That means, Noah is more tired and has to decide when to exert energy or pull back, while Larry Sanders can pretty much go hard the entire game in his 26 minutes.
Noah is DPOY imo
