Why? Because you have no real response to my simple point? :comeon:

I think maybe you need to actually read Marx before commenting on something like this.

because you admit it wont work, i dont think i need to read marx, i think i need to look at the results of people that tried to put his ideas into effect

I bet you guys hang out in coffee shops and talk about organic farming and white privilege.

I didn't "admit" anything. I said I didn't think it would work. And looking at results would be reasonable, if people were trying to put his ideas into effect. Again- Leninism, Stalinism, Maoism, Castroism, etc, are their own entities. Sociologically, putting them within the broader category of Marxism, conceived as an umbrella term, is one thing, but this thread concerns the ideas of Marx himself, so Marxism in this thread refers to the ideas of Marx- not those of these others.

The fukk. You've never read Marx, not even for school or anything and you're always on a crusade against his work?

No, he hasn't. It's clear from him repeating blatantly false assertions again and again. He hasn't even read the works of the thinkers he actually does claim to endorse, last time I checked. Hopefully he fixed that, at least.

While I agree with this sentiment, I only hope that is this courtesy is extended to the other thinkers in the poll...because I already see some caricature driven posts in relation to the influence/ideas of the economists in the poll.

interesting.

the thread topic is what idea do you agree with and Marxism by it description is the most humane and progressive idea for humanity. It sounds the best and seems the most ideal for a Utopian society.

Agreed. The description of Hayek should be edited to reflect his endorsement of specific forms of government involvement and social safety nets. I didn't actually read the first post closely.

im agreeing with you, marx's idea wont work

Hopefully you also agree that you were completely wrong in your No True Scotsman argument and that criticizing an idea without actually knowing what it entails is embarrassing.

yeah it sounds the best, but as the real said, who btw is also an expert on the subject, it wont work

Hopefully you also agree that you were completely wrong in your No True Scotsman argument and that criticizing an idea without actually knowing what it entails is embarrassing.

He did think the government should do nothing to interfere in markets correct?

As far as welfare, I shouldn't have said none, but I think he was ambiguous and contradictory. I know he spoke about the need for wealthy nations to provide some basic minimum of food and "social insurance" (I'm on my phone, don't feel like pulling up the quote), which he later retracted, and he opposed social security and Medicare. So it's hard to identify what forms of social welfare Hayek would support, if any.
