The easy answer is their arrogance. They go into every movie/show like this now:smugfavre:

She-Hulk and Thor 4 knew they were a$$ and didn't give a shyt. Plus their unwillingness to push violence like Blade and Punisher has put an imaginary ceiling on what they can actually accomplish. By doing that and catering, compelling and edgy storylines take a backseat or get shelved altogether until they "figure out how to use them". So they get "cute" to stay in good graces. Not to mention the fight coordination is godawful (Hawkeye, She-Hulk) due to not pushing limits. The John Wick director being turned down for Blade is all you need to know.

You'll never see a Disney trailer like this. EVER.

Nevermind the fact it's staring you in the damn face and Wesley showed you what do do damn near 25 years ago. Sextapes and promiscuous behavior thumbs up, slitting throats no can do gotta think about the kids. Not one parent will buy 1 less Disneyworld ticket if Frank Castle is rated R. Prolly got a bullshyt focus study group up there who "ran numbers" on how many soccer moms would cancel Disney if they had a true rated R flick for Marvel. They can do this, they think with Deadpool since it's "not real" in a sense like Punisher or Blade.

The answer is easy. Give Blade and Punisher lower budgets than a standard green screen flick. Especially Punisher.

Not every story is the end of the world or the apocalypse (pun intended). Daredevil was successful primarily because it happened during regular 9-5 work, not in spite of it. It looks like they've gotten the hint, because this last 2 years with a few exceptions has been azz.

Blood, guts some tettas and a couple of F. bombs would save the MCU. lol I don't think most people are on this edge Lord shyt you are besides the 11 to 16 year old set. lol

IF was the climax, it was what everyone was looking forward, we stayed after the credits to see if we get another 2 seconds look at Thanos, once you climax you need some time to reload (unless you are a 6 cert alpha Coli breh) and Marvel didn't give us any time, started riding us right away but we can barely get a chubby :yeshrug:

Honestly this was the perfect time for DC to come up with something completely different from the MCU and get their shine but they fukked it up like usual.

It ain't gotta be all that. Just quit being fukking cute and quit with the self-deprecating humor.

It's the same shyt that happened to Pierce Brosnan's Bond- it got too cute for its own good winking at the camera before a fight scene and gadgets. Then Craig had to come along because the audience, box office and critics rightfully savaged it.

Being deadly serious about stuff that is obviously fake and fantastical is a difficult trick to pull. You are already asking the audience to suspend their knowledge of reality. Doing it in a serious way leaves you open to more criticism compared to being self-depricating.
Look at BvS, there is so much silly stuff in that movie but everyone involved is dead serious about it. It makes it even funnier. "Martha!" is a thing for a reason.

The perfect happy medium is

IM1
Cap 2
Hulk (Ed Norton)
The Batman
Infinity War

Occasionally funny but serious. Comedy came from the characters, not them actively seeking jokes.

I got zero issue with the Guardians Flicks of the world with not so subtle humor. It's a damn talking c00n and tree. It's a very thin line. But slipping into self parody is not my cup of tea. I don't expect nonstop jokes in. Black Panther for example.

Look at the difference between Die Another Day and Casino Royale.

That's what Phase 4 has been.

And I'm saying, "the perfect happy medium" is difficult. You actually can't just do it on command, it takes a special effort. It's impossible to do every single movie release. Everyone is trying to make a fantastic movie every single time. It just usually doesn't happen.

Now I have heard it all. Terence Howard would be saving the MCU right now of he was still in it mayne. lol
Don Cheadle was never believable as war machine to me or a military officer for that matter. High probability War Machine would have had a movie or show green lit by now if Howard was still War Machine.

As a paying customer I have expectations or a good concerted effort. Only movies do that shyt- "well we knew you'd pay so we'll make it up next time, deadline to meet".

Do we so this with

Food
cars

hell naw.

They mailed it in on Thor 4 and She Hulk.

Thor and Dr Strange are dope characters in the comics… but they were lowkey nerfed in the movies.

They turned Thor into a one-note himbo, and Strange tends to get pushed to the side to prop up younger characters. Those two should be carrying MCU right now.
T’Challa also had next, but his untimely passing messed that up.
