Evolution as a producer

You can't compare them to Doom other than the fact that they are both independent/underground acts who were all considered back pack on hip hop no matter how different they are.

As for Doom all you need to do is listen to Madvillany to get the talent. Take away the character and the playfulness of it but really listen to the lyrics and way he puts together words. A song like Accordion is god tier lyricism.

I think the Minstrel show was their doom unfortunately. Amazing album but it felt like they lowkey got blackballed cuz of it

They didn’t get blackballed because of it. They just didn’t get major label push after that.

Take SV Trinity album.

Selfish blew up, so they got more looks.

Minstrel Show didn’t have a ‘Selfish’ song. So the majors put their wallets back in their pockets.
