Dats a tough task...charter schools are up against a school system dats over 100 years old...it's hard to convince people to change when they dnt necessarily see a problem dat needs to be changed...I for one dnt think our public school system is that bad...I've seen others (immigrants like my self) do way more with less...the focus still has to be on the students...a fancy building with ipads to replace books wont mean nothing if the kids dnt wanna learn...dats the core problem dat we cnt move on from till it's solved...

Again, the point of charter schools isn't fancy buildings or iPads the point is that they are independently run, if people think public schools are working in thier community then they should keep them, but imo the public school system doesnt work in poor black communities and if the schools arent dealing directly with the fact that kids are coming from broken homes and an anti acdemic culture then they should be shut down and replaced by schools that do address those issues

See here's the issue...you just said it...the school system is not working in broken black homes...why is it only the black folks the school system is not working for? Everybody else seems to be using it just fine...and why should the government make special provisions for black kids in fukked up ass homes...that's not their fault neither should they care...schools should be equal opportunity...I'm tired of us blacks getting handouts...it creates dependency...

it doesnt work for black people because black people have an anti academic culture, i dont believe in handouts or welfare, what i believe in is individual freedom, and i think the public school system should be eliminated and replaced with charters schools and vouchers

if other people want to keep their public system thats on them, but charter schools are not handouts, i dont know where you are getting that from, its simply a different structure and method of educating

Once again u are clearly identifying the problem bt u being unreasonable in your proposed solution...U said black culture is anti academic...dats the core issue...we won't be pro academic if we are given more vouchers for charter schools...the mindset has to change first before we move on to the next stepping stone...black kids need to start valuing education...it's up to their parents and on another scale, the community, to instill that in them...

vouchers and charters are the mechanism by which you change the culture, because it breaks apart the education bureaucracy

White people move in, bringing jobs and money.

Black people follow

White people dont want to share jobs, space and culture with black people

White people move out

White people take jobs and money with them

Neighborhood becomes a dump

Black people look around and say, where are the cacs because this place has become a shythole since they left with all the money? :ohhh:

Black people follow cacs

Segregation becomes more refined.

Same thing happened with Asians and Latinos but they had money from a foreign nation to invest in the region once cacs took their ball and went home. As Black Amricans we dont have foreign backing and feel rekindling ties with africa is a waste of time so we're relying on a miracle within our collective to begin an awakening of investment in our own neighborhoods.

Weren't they always segregated, tho? :dahell:
Less so in the 70s and 80s (despite the busing backlash).
shyt is almost similar to the 60s now thanks to the Supreme Court decision on the "Seattle School District" case, which opened the door to "neighborhood schools" (basically nullifying Brown v Board of Education)
