it's kinda true, but it's not like they hate American black men.
A lot of them fukk with black men, they just not trying to marry one.

It just a culture thing, women marry into the culture of their husband for a lot of Nigerian tribes, a lot of them aren't ready to leave their culture behind switch from being a "Nigerian/Igbo/Yoruba woman" to being a "American Black woman".

But your mileage may vary, a lot of African girls are Americanized so they don't identify with the culture enough to factor it into their dating choices. An African girl raised in the suburbs around white people will fukk around and marry and white dude, an African girl raised around black men and not other Nigerians will probably fukk around and marry a black man.

Good point. I know some of my Nigerian and Ghanaian friends' parents would trip if their sisters wanted to get married to their AA boyfriends just because of the potential of losing their culture. It's hard enough being immersed in a new country that doesn't view African countries, ethnic groups and languages as unique. That's why some parents push the culture so hard and I don't blame them.

I think as time progresses and each black ethnic group gets used to each other, you'll see a lot more openness and willingness to marry across cultural lines. It's pretty much already cool for my West African friends to marry their AA girlfriend though.

Yeah African Americans do not have a positive image overseas. My aunt was visiting from Nigerian and she bought a fashion magazine. There were no classy African American'S in there. The magazine was on some swagged out mess. The images that are displayed over there are 50 cent, lil wayne, Nicki Minaj, Trina. and etc. Even then as black people that have dealt with negative impacts of European colonialism there is no reason to feel like we are above African Americans. My father was definitely strict when it came to who I dated. If I came home with a lil wayne type dude they would disown me, lol.
