As far as facial hair, in corporate America facial hair is seen as unprofessional

Not anymore. I work for a top 5 bank.
I shaved for the interview but that's it.

Maybe unprofessional if you have face to face clients? I work in the back office in compliance so I'm gucci

I have a huge beard and I wear a kufi to work sometimes. I usually dress very nice but I have been known to come to work on Fridays dressed like a hood drug dealer, chain and all. They don't trip at my company.
