I wouldn't say atheists are obsessed with religion, but atheists in living in Western countries are more likely to be critical of Christianity because that is the dominant religion, and also the religion they are most familiar with,

I consider myself agnostic and I remember a dude that called himself a Catholic on this website didn't understand that the church has generally been anti contraception. When I tried to explain to him that is one of the main reasons that mexican birth rates are so high he tried to act like I'm crazy.
