so you have to advertise as black owned in order to get the dollars to circulate? The dollars don’t circulate long in the community because there are less black businesses to choose from since the country is 60% white. If we lived in a country that was 90% black the dollar would circulate for a greater amount of time. Other ethnicities also have foreign investors which keep the dollar circulating artificially. You really think shouting support black businesses will keep the dollar circulating rather than making sure that we have successful businesses first then piggybacking off that success in order to open up more locations. Symbolic Victories are not what we should be striving for.
I'm telling you the why because you asked.
I don't see the problem with advertising a business as black owned. It is alluding to a level of customer understanding and trust. I also don't see an issue with not framing a business for black people either. Just get the money

Other ethnic groups circulate their money while being minorities population wise. They also have sections of the city and foreign money to launder/invest into businesses. Whatever advertising brings in the customer for black people go for it. It's a small number of people so what difference does it make policing the few that do.

Wait, what?

You might have self esteem issues. I thought that this was a good faith discussion about a legit topic.
Self esteem issues how?

Because I said that using black owned as a marketing tool is a bad business practice. If my goal is to sell 1 million burgers why would use marketing terminology that is palatable by only 13% of the population. If I’m reinvesting into the community what does it matter that I don’t advertise my business as being black owned. Are we going for the win or do we just want a trophy?

The first Black man to own/run a billion dollar business never shied away from , downplayed, or hid that after he acqured Beatrice that it was in fact a Black owned company.

He was one the most successful businessmen in American history, but maybe you know more than he did.

You mean the guy who did leveraged buyouts using white owned private equity firms? That’s the problem with most people you full of information but no knowledge.

I think your mixing emotions with an absolute. You're saying the people who advertise black owned are the vast majority of black business owners?

Why would you do that ? I don't know man. I guess you wouldn't. Some business owners are comfortable with local and niche money. If you think their contribution to globalization is what's going to tip the scales of finance for black americans I have a car that runs on air to sell you.

You don't need to shyt on black owned advertisers to make your point, that black people should advertise to everyone instead of advertising with cultural familiarity.

Community financial hubs are important too and every group has them

Juelzing is not it.
How am I juelzing by saying how he didn’t achieve his success by being strictly black owned. If the white owned private equity firms didn’t loan him the money for the buy out it would have never been acquired. Does that take away from his success he’ll no. But the idea that that we can have a solely black owned business without white interference is unrealistic.

Mustard Island
Maybe cause in some cases it IS charity :yeshrug:
I think this mostly applies to stuff like clothing and food businesses though. I hope no one is getting their kitchen remodeled or signing long term contracts on some being nice tip
But I know plenty of people who basically waste money on shyt they don't really need as a means to just support a black business, nothing wrong with that really. My girl got them hats with the silk lining and she got some ugly ass camo jacket from some girl that's buzzing online, another family member traveled to another state to get a $300 hair cut from some up and coming black stylist. Lil goofy shyt like that
