Over confidence has always been the biggest weakness of black Americans.

Confidence itself is a strength. Too much of it and you become so full of yourself and underestimate every challenge which then leads to massive failure.

Lets be realistic what chances does he have of actually making the nba? So many other little black kids just as good as him, what makes him think he can actually make it....Confidence

It's funny you brought this up.. Because my nephew that I made that thread about is the polar opposite of my cousin who had hoop dreams in his mid 30's..And the difference had nothing to do with over confidence and everything to do with work ethic..

He was actually clowned by my hoop dreams cousin for being too timid, quiet and not boisterous enough...But he woke up 4:30 every morning before school and worked out while my sh1t talking cousin was still sleep or hung over..

I don't know if he will ever make the NBA but his confidence is internal and he's always been a humble kid that doesn't take short cuts...He's not gonna pound his chest and tell you how good he is, he's more interested in just proving it...

Like I said before, this is not about crushing dreams or telling people not to believe in their talent..

When my cousin and my nephew are in the same room chopping it up..From the outside looking in at their display of outward confidence you wouldn't be able to tell which one was currently a starting PG in the ACC and which one hasn't played competitive hoops in over 15 years and couldn't make a Div. 2 roster...
