This is true and I put the blame on their upbringing. Realistically you cant tell your kids that they can be and do anything that they want. And the entitlement usually stems from being spoiled as hell and not having to work for shyt. They need to understand reality and that shyt is hard out here in these streets.

I suppose you can say it's based on how they came up. In some places you had to exhibit confidence, or people would see you as "weak" (like the hood, for instance). Some actually ARE weak, and just fake confidence. Some are just flaugin-ass nikkaz (the type to stunt on everybody)...and some nikkaz are just plain a$$holes....

Anyone who has a dream that is considered unrealistic has to be overconfident because they obviously don't have the backing of others. I agree that a back up plan should be set up though..I don't dispute that. I agree everyone can't be an entertainer or athlete but there are other things that black males shoot for that are considered only reality for a few. The Nigerian is on here talking about pushing his own product yet folks still find a way to isht on his dream. Now is he wrong for continuing to be highly confident and going forward with what he wants to do?

So I'm confused at the topic...is is about black males being too confident when pursuing dreams and goals of being successful? Or is it about black males not targeting different paths to becoming successful? :thinking:

As soon as 1 of us aspires to do something big, there is a pocket of black folks that will be hatin and discouraging someone talkin bout "nygga what the fucc u tryna sell mollywater for, that shyt ain't gonna sell" "what the hell u tryna go to medical school for, that's hella years in school" "why u tryna rap, its a gang of nyggaz that rap"

Bottom line is people need to not give a flyin fucc what people think of u atempting to reach your goals. Confidence goes a long way in the pursuit of succes. U have to be confident in your abilities and somtimes have a chip on your shoulder
