Why are black men abandoning God?

Interesting topic & to the OP are the black men you're talking about those in your everyday life because I'm not seeing that point.

I believe in what I believe in but I do feel religon is a business in this country & abroad. You have these pastors, with million dollar mega churches driving every expensive car known to man while 75% of the congregation is in poverty giving their last to him, they can't even meet him gotta make an appointment.

When I was marching in dallas about the wilson non indictment there was a woman who's nephew got murdered by a cop in oak cliff & she was saying let god deal with it, etc.. I think some black people use religon as crutch but I disagree with some of the posts in this thread especially the ones who coincide believing & praying to god into the treatment of black people.

As far as spirituality, I see people everyday from the young to the old DIE... When you see a person alive one minute & see the literally the life & sprit leave their body will make you a believer in that. Any hospitalist or RN will tell you the exact same thing.

In the end religon & politics are two most divisive things in the world. There is no crossing somone over to your beliefs because people strongly believe in what they believe in.

I've noticed some people who post here consider themselves athiest laugh & mock those who believe & the one who do believe try everything to live a righouteous life, in the end it doesn't matter what another person thinks, it's all about you & your life....

Atheism is a concept that's built around Abrahamic Religion (the most violent of them all). Fact is that you have black people running around quoting white people on why they don't believe in god is not different than black running quoting white people on why they do believe in god. We have no thought process of our own, everything is indoctrinated which is why I look at black atheist the same way i look at black muslims, jews and christians.

I was Muslim and Christian at one point, but i had to ask myself. If this meant for me? So im doing research to find more about Traditional African Religion. Oshun, Ogun, Oya etc. I rather sit down and pray to these gods along with my ancestors than be pray as a arab or european

I just wanted to know why so many black men are becoming atheist, or following new ageism. I know God is real and the Bible stands for Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth. I just want to know why black men are leaving God and worship.

God is not real and the bible was written by savages. Religion is a form of control. There is no proof of any of these stories happening or at least the way they tell it. Adam and Eve? David and Goliath?

Plus why would a God let innocent children get raped? Have it where blacks are pretty much the only race that get held back? Don't give me this faith BS. shyt is just not real.

Black people have been getting shafted by everyone and everything even in the midst of praying all day and going to church and reading the bible. Lowest rate of business ownership, Highest rate of incarceration, highest rate of unployment, getting killed by racist cops who get off and get donations funds set up in their honor, under the thumb of centuries of white oppression, have had everything and almost anything taken from them. It's pretty obvious if there is a god he hates us...yet we pray to him all day long...we are so lost as a people!

I agree. I never believed in God way back as a kid. It just didn't make any sense and it wasn't logical. That was my initial reason. You are correct about every thing else. People are sheep. Let the white man tell them something that is not there. It's just a form of control.
